In the Academic Advising Department, our focus is student success. To this aim, our advisors offer students an accurate course of study with ongoing follow-up sessions to secure the desired educational path and an accurate track to graduation. Initial advising typically includes a conversation to highlight student interests and future aspirations. For students requiring specific support, whether physical, mental, or emotional, the student may request an Accommodation Plan which, in accordance with ADA policies and procedures, allows equal opportunities and access to the curriculum. In addition to academic advising, we also discuss career development, community resources, and tutoring options.

Consistent communication with an Academic Advisor provides a secure path toward a student’s intended major/degree and ensures an academic path as aligned with student’s ultimate educational and career goals. Our advisors also support students with their concerns, including (but not limited to) course load, tutoring issues, and financial aid (including scholarships and Veteran’s benefits).
